Pretty in Pink ~ A Classic for Mom's Birthday

Today is Mom's birthday and we will be celebrating over at my Aunt Judy's with a savory steak dinner. While I love this beautiful cake created by Melody of My Sweet and Saucy, I will be contributing a variety of gourmet cheeses for the occasion. I watched the video tutorial of this extravagant icing application and had visions of ruffles landing everywhere except on the cake. Not only that, My Uncle Al makes Mom a Carrot Cake for her birthday every year so I'm off dessert duty this time around.
