Ingredients for Life

Even though I live here in the desert, I am always intrigued by some of our local foods. Prickly Pair Cactus for example. You wouldn't think that something so foreboding, so prickly, could be so sweet.

Prickly Pear will be my new January ingredient. It might even make for a deliciously surprising Valentine's Day treat :-)...
